Gunnebo Johnson lands Asian Hercules III contract
Gunnebo Johnson Corporation, Tulsa, Oklahoma, September 2011, has been awarded a significant order with Franklin Offshore in Singapore to manufacture Lifting Tackle, Blocks, Equalizer Beams, and Sheaves for the 5000 Metric Ton Asian Hercules III Project. Asian Lift Pte. of Singapore, a joint venture between two of the world leaders in the marine industry, Keppel Fels Ltd and Smit Singapore Pte Ltd, is the owner. It will be designed, tested, manufactured and delivered over the next twenty months.
This crane ship will perform offshore lifting tasks in the Far East, but like its sister ship, the Asian Hercules II, may work anywhere in the world. This comprehensive tackle, and lifting beam system design has been provided to Asian Lift Pte. by Gunnebo Johnson in the past, although on a smaller scale of 3200 metric tons for the Asian Hercules II.
