The drill wing, which is self-drilling and can be used outdoor is used for fitting timber battens, wood fibreboard and minerit board to beams and steel joists. The wings remove material to a larger diameter than threads and prevent the threads engaging in the material, which means there is no need for pre-drilling before fitting.
